I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to promote next month's bout.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually happening.
